Sentinel Class of 1974 Spartan Of The Month for September 2021 highlighting Lori Kaiserman Barnett.

I had the opportunity to spend several hours with Lori to catch up and listen to Lori and all about her fun, interesting and adventerous life.  Lori has and is leading an incredible life which she loves and shares with her family.   We laughed and shared stories, an interesting and uplifting afternoon to say the least.  I know you will enjoy reading about Lori and her fun lifestyle.  So, buckle up and get ready for the ride of your life!

Lori attended Lewis & Clark Grade School and obviously graduated from Sentinel High School in 1974.  Lori was lucky to live right next door to Sharp's A&W which would make for a fun childhood and teenage years.  Lori was active in high school and while in school she was introduced to her life partner in high school, Sean Barnett by mutual friend Nels Solander.  Lori and Sean were highschool sweethearts and 43 years later are still sweethearts.  Lori said, "I do" to Sean in 1978.

After graduation Lori worked at Champion Lumber Mill in the plywood department and later moving to Arizona with Sean where she drove a Beer/Hamburger cart on a golf course. Sean moved to Alaska with Lori following close behind.  The Barnetts built a log cabin on their property in Chugiak, Alaska and there they started their family.  Their first born Nels,  joined Sean and Lori in 1980 with Kara making their family complete in 1983.

Lori and Sean are blessed with five grandchildren.  Nels and wife Brandi blessed them with three granddaughters ages 15, 12 and 5.  Daughter Kara and husband Dusty presented them with grandson and granddaughter ages 6 and 4.

Lori was a stay at home mom enjoying the most important job ever, being a mom while Sean was/is owner and operator of Rainbow Builders Inc.  After the kids were a little older Lori went to college at University of Anchorage and receiving her Bachelors of Education in 1991.  Lori taught 5-6 and 3-4 grades and later becoming a Health Education Specialist in Eagle River School District in Eagle River, Alaska.  Lori taught grade school children for 14 years before teaching Health for 4 years.  According to Lori third grade was her very favorite.  After retiring from teaching Lori, Sean, Nels and Kara built a beautiful Brewry and Tap Room at Coopers Landing, Cooper Landing Brewing Company. Lori's 15 year old granddaughter Kadence designed the logo for Cooper Landing Brewing Company.  Cooper Landiing Brewing Company was awarded a Bronze medal in 2021 for an Open Beer Champion and a Third Place in the Lawn Mowing Award for their Pilsner beer.

In addition to operating the brewing company and operating Rainbow Builders Sean is a Medic for the Fire Department in Chugiak and Lori is the disptacher.

Lori and Sean make their home in Chugiak and also enjoy spending time at their cabin and second home in Cooper Landing and spending time at their home in Missoula.  The Barnett grandchildren are the highlight and loves of their lives and they spend as much time as possible with their grandchildren and children.

Lori enjoys skate skiing during the winter months, spending nearly every day on trails only 5 minutes from their home.  Lori and Sean are bicycling enthusiasts and they may be seen in Missoula cruising the streets.  While in Montana they venture out on 5 day bike trips with highschool friends and look forward to this yearly event.  In addition to biking Lori and Sean also enjoy their drift boat, kayaks, rafts, skitters and motor boats.  Lori and Sean have traveled extensively throughout south America which included Argentina, Peru, Chile, Costa Rica, Machu Picchu.  They couldn't leave out trips to Europe, UK, Ireland and Italy and they visit Mexico yearly at their time share.

Lori and Sean have a fun lifestyle and enjoy their life and the adventures they share together and also with family and friends.  Visiting with Lori is as fun as going on a world trip.  If you are in their neighborhood in Coopers Landing stop in and partake in one of their award winning beers.  If you are in Missoula and see them pedaling their bikes make sure to wave and say hello.
